Nail files – different types

When choosing a nail file, we should pay special attention to its gradation (graininess). Coarse nail files (80 and 100 grit) are used when shaping tips. You have to handle them carefully because they can easily damage the nail plate. Medium gradation (between 100 and 180) are the most universal nail files. They are used to shape the nails to the desired way. There are also fine-grained files dedicated to finish your natural nails manicure. Nail sanding block, or a polisher, which is perfect for levelling and matting the nail plate. Nail files also come in a wide variety of shapes. The straight files are the most popular ones in commercial use but for the gel nail polish, banana-shaped and rounded (harbour-bridge) ones are definitely more convenient. There are still so-called boat files, that are wider in the middle.

Nail files aredisposable

You need to remember that nail files can only be used once. We never use the same nail file for more than one client. Each time we should use a new file, and after use, we throw it into the waste bin (or we can give it to the client to use at home). Therefore, make sure you are always have a large supply of files in your salon.
