While ago, the British Association of Dermatologists published an article that ingredients in artificial nails, acrylic nails, gel color nails and gel polish nails, are causing a contact allergy.
Therefore, it is very important to buy quality products that come from a known source and the composition complies with the regulations of the European Union.
Semilac products meet all standards and have been dermatologically tested.
The most common symptoms are reddened skin around the manicure or under the nail tip, red swollen, burning sensation, itching or contact dermatitis. This may last for up to several days.

In case a strong allergic reaction to gel polish has occurred, we should, of course, consult this with a GP or dermatologist.
If we have had a slight allergic reaction to a given product, however, we want to try to use hybrid varnishes again because, for example, we had sensitive nails at that time and now we think it shouldn't be a problem. We should at least change the gel polish base coat to one that is intended for weak and sensitive nails like Sensitive Care Base with panthenol and vitamin E
A good alternative form can be a break from gel polishes and strengthening the nails, e.g. using our VEGAN Nail Conditioner Protect & Care
You can do the patch test, it is an easy and quick way to get an allergy result. Check the composition of the product and if it contains your allergen, it is best to look for another similar product without it. Remember to use the products in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and that it is not expired. If we know that our skin is sensitive to various chemical ingredients, let's do the check by applying a little bit of gel polish on the skin whether it will cause an allergic reaction.
Once again, we remind you to do artificial nails, gel nails, acrylic nails, gel polish nails, we must have healthy nails and the work has to be done very carefully.
HEMA and Di-HEMA are responsible for strengthening and extending the nail plate. They are commonly used in light-cured products, in cosmetics and dentistry. TPO is responsible for initiating polymerization and preventing yellowing of the formulation.
HEMA and its derivatives are ingredients with a low risk of allergies - if used correctly. The formula without these ingredients is intended mostly for users with sensitive nail plates.
If you have allergic reactions to these ingredients we have designed gel polish color collection with HEMA free and Vegan formula.
