DISINFECTION AND STERILIZATION OF COSMETIC TOOLS

Metal tools must be decontaminated before use.

    Processing steps for manicure/pedicure tools:

    • washing
    • disinfection
    • sterilization

After the service, all instruments /tools are considered contaminated and must be re-sterilized. This procedure is also necessary before working with new tools.

After use, the tools should be cleaned of organic residues and varnish or acrylic residues and placed in an ultrasonic cleaner with a washing and disinfecting solution.

When choosing disinfectants, remember about the wide spectrum of activity against enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, fungi and yeasts, bacteria and mycobacterium tuberculosis.

The best results are obtained using ultrasonic cleaners

    IMPORTANT!

When disinfecting, strictly follow the preparation instructions of the selected preparation! Failure to comply with the rules of solution preparation, exposure time, temperature and concentration may cause corrosion and loss of cutting properties of the tools. Tools already rusted or showing signs of corrosion should be de-rusted or discarded. It is not allowed to disinfect both rusted and non-rusted instruments in one bath.

After performing the disinfection procedure, it is necessary to rinse the instruments with water to remove the remains of the disinfectant solution. After rinsing, the tool must be dried, e.g. with a dust-free towel, and then the moving parts should be oiled with medical paraffin. Metal instruments are suitable for high-temperature sterilization in a type B autoclave.

Instruments should be sterilized in a sterile barrier (paper-foil bags or sleeves) to maintain sterility after sterilization and the possibility of their storage. Instruments should be sterilized only in functional autoclaves with a valid inspection and only with demineralized or distilled water of purity specified by the autoclave manufacturer. Using poor quality water can cause corrosion and damage to the tool.

We do not recommend the use of ball sterilizers. This may result in mechanical damage and non-sterility of the instruments. Improper cleaning or disinfection of instruments after use or skipping one of the steps significantly reduces the effectiveness of sterilization and can cause corrosion and rusting.

When machining tools, it is important to:

    Use personal protective equipment (headgear, mask, long rubber gloves, waterproof apron);
Do not use brass/copper brushes or metal cleaning sponges, etc.
    Do not use alcohol-based preparations
The temperature of the disinfectant solution should not exceed 40C
Do not use chlorinated water to prepare a disinfectant solution or to rinse instruments
The Semilac brand is not responsible for damage to tools as a result of non-compliance with the rules of disinfection and sterilization. The corrosion resistance of steel, tools retain only when all rules and instructions are followed, as well as using high-quality and certified cleaning and disinfecting agents. It is absolutely necessary to follow the instructions and procedures attached to disinfectants and sterilizing devices.
